The movie "Stand By Me" is a good example of a memoir because it reflects on a past memory which has had an impact in shaping someone's life. Gordie used the memory of his childhood to understand how the experience has shaped who he had become, he looks at himself presently and can answer questions about himself because he can recall the experiences he had when he was a child, the experiences that modified who he is or what he was planning to be when he got older. A film adaptation version of a Stephen King novel is different from the novel because there is no reader to interpret the story in a way that you see is correct; instead you are given the scenes and your only job is to process the images through your head rather than create your own images. Knowing King's Novels there would be a mysterious sense within the novel and dark, eerie adjectives scattered all across the book, creating a dark and spooky atmosphere. The movie which I've seen did not seem like something that King would write about because it lacked the horror and mystery elements that King likes to use.
