My Future

Posted by MWolfe

I plan to go to USF for the next four years and study Computer Science or Computer Engineering. I want to travel to Korea next year for the first semester of school in a Study Abroad program, I am interested in learning Korean. When I finish college I will decide whether to follow the path of an engineer and go for my masters degree or jump to law. I will try and go to either FSU, UF, or Stetson University for a law degree in Intellectual Property and take my bar exams and LSAT's. I will try to become a patent agent or patent attorney. I am not volatile in my plans usually, but there is still possibility that I will take another route in my life because of my interests. I do not have much planned after that rather than to live a successful life for a while and show my parents it was a good idea to come to the United States for their children. As long as I am enjoying myself, I will be happy with my future.

Productive Hobbies Open Topic

Posted by MWolfe

I have my hobbies that I believe will add value to me as a person. Most hobbies like this are all “creative” hobbies. I am currently practice beatboxing, where I make silly noises with my mouth that end up sounding like a beat to a song, computer coding, trying to learn how to code certain programs to help me out in my day to day use of my computer, and music production, where I spend countless hours learning how to use computer applications to recreate sound oscillations and other tools such as synthesizers where I recreate analog sounds with a computer... I like certain music types and would love to make my own music just as artists who love art , love to paint... I like to make music, it is a more beautiful art to me. . I have on my to-do list some hobbies or activities I'd like to get into. I want to learn how to play the keyboard/piano because it will help me understand music which will help me create better music with my programs. I want to start practicing parkour, which is a non-competitive sport. It will get me into shape and help me learn discipline and maybe learn my limits as an athlete. I think their will be al ot more things I will be interested through the course of my college experience, I have gotten interest in some clubs, such as the Society of Automotive Engineers, IEEE, and programming societies. Every week there is a meeting for local practitioners of parkour that I'd like to attend regularly and learn more of the sport.

WoW

One of the many things that I hate about myself is that I do many things that are not beneficial to my life. I want to tell you about Blizzard's game called World of Warcraft that has over 8 million subscribers. The game consists of a real time world where people connect to from all over the world and complete quests together and many other things. I have played this game since launch and have quit many times, The game seems to have me coming back again and again. This time I got back into the game because a new expansion pack came out for the game adding content. I have not played this game for over a year and decided to play again. I knew when I was buying this game I was going to sacrifice a lot of my time towards absolutely nothing beneficial to me. I think of the game as the best game in the world and the worst game in the world at the same time. There are a ton of WoW addicts that get emotionally attached to this game and never want to leave it. You can read other's detox processes on www.wowdetox.com if you want more info. WoW is a massive game that has taken over 120 days from my life in just play time, which means time that I am actually logged into the game is 120 days.

Veterans Day

Posted by MWolfe

I celebrated Veterans day by sleeping in, the best kind of reward I could get. For the rest of the entire day I spoke to my friend from Korea and coded my website for my Foundations of Engineering class. I thought the project was due today but it turns out the proffessor sent us an "email" telling us to attend one of three campus events and write a 500 word summary of it. Luckily for me, I ignored the email, I was not expecting a teacher to contact us via email for an assignment, that is what Blackboard is for. For the entire day I worked on my website, making sure my DIV's aligned correctly. I don't usually celebrate holidays or birthdays because I was raised as a Jehovah's witness and they do not celebrate any holidays other than passover.

Susie Scribbles

Posted by MWolfe

I don't know who the author of "Susie Scribbles" was, but he or she has gone from thinking about something simple and explored all possible areas of the subject. If I was to see a doll that could write , it would not invoke as much thoughts as he or she had. The author speaks about her processes of writing and use of writing technologies throughout her life. I think that this entire article was used as an agent for brainstorming our third projects. It gives us solid ideas of writing technologies and the writing incarnate that perhaps we have never took the time to think about for ourselves. Article allows us to see a much broader aspect when it comes to communication through writing. I did not manage to read the entire article due to its length and predictability due to its constant drive down one path, but from what I've gained is a deeper understanding of how we as humans connect through writing, the drudgery involved and the effort put in.

Project 1 vs Project 2

Posted by MWolfe

Project two was much easier for me to do than project one due to my previous inexperiences. On project one I had made grammatical, spelling, and logical mistakes within my paper. I've spent much time on project one only to realize that the time I've spent was wasted because I had created tangents. I am now more aware of writing in the active voice, transitioning, and removing useless words. The experience I've gained from project one contributed to my project two in the way that I had less time spent working on project two and more confidence. On project two I had the issue of repeating myself and going from one subject to another and then back to the first subject over and over. It was easier to rewrite my project two than it was to rewrite my project one because project two had all the on-topic information that I wanted, but only scrambled around. Project one had many off-topic subjects that I had to eliminate as well as change my entire main idea of the essay, ultimately having me write a new essay.

Missing assignments

Posted by MWolfe

I'm on top of everything and I have all these assignments completed before their due date. I get to class ready to turn in one of many assignments, but when it is time to turn in the assignment we are to turn in one more additional assignment that I completely forgot about. I hate it when I forget these minuscule assignments that I believe will put a dent in my grades. I was supposed to write a resume letter along with a summer for a engineering session for today, but instead I only wrote the summary and completely forget the resume due to all the mayhem going on in the week. Just when I feel I have everything under control, something like this slips by underneath me. I need to think clearer and check my USF BB more often, so that I am more organized than I am currently.
