When we are born the only fluids we should be consuming are milk and water. I believe we should not be drinking any other beverages unless they are used for medicinal purposes. Every animal on this planet drinks water, milk, and body fluids. Animals drink milk until they are old enough to drink water and never drink milk naturally again. We should avoid drinking milk and sodas because milk causes gastrointestinal problems and could contain steroids. Sodas are full of high sugar syrups called high fructose corn syrups which are a cheep source of table sugar, C6H12O6. This cheaper substitute confuses the brain because it is not picked up as a sugar and the body does not know what to do with it, placing it straight into your fat storage. Cola is often advertised as the king of beverages, when I go to the movie theaters and see the big screen cola adds. I think to myself what a overrated source of empty calories. Most people do not realize that a large cola from McDonald's contains close to 310 calories, but the same amount of water is zero calories. One pound is 3,500 calories, if you do the calculations, over time you will gain unwanted pounds just from drinking cola if you do not take the time to exercise the 310 calories from your body which is equivalent to one hour of bicycling.
